Junior Achievement! AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!

I was absoultly terrified in the beginning of the day I felt I was super unprepared, that all that I read would fly out the door. But when I got there everything just hit me, I knew exactly what to do. Me and my partner started by introducing ourselves and starting the session of working together. She read them the story that went with the lesson and afterwords we gave them the activity which consisted of drawing their favorite animal and sharing it with the class. We talked to them about how they work together and how helping each other can make them feel good and give them rewards. They then went to lunch and we went with them and I noticed how they were helping each other open chips and cookies for each other and share it. When we finally got back to class --

to be finished later

Website for the little ones and teachers!!!!! :)

One of the websites, http://classtools.net/, I found to be very interesting. It contained many different applications that could be used to help students learn and memorize different information using "Hands on" activities. For example the Memory Game helps students memorize the information. But there are also applications for the teachers like one called the Random Name Picker which can be used when a student does not want to volunteer and can be used in fairness.

Another cool thing about the website is that all the applications are listed and you do not have to search everywhere for the dang thing. There are also video tutorials for those who are more non computer savy.

Conflicts...grrr

When I was in class, two boys where shooting the infamous Silly Bands at each other disrupting the class multiple times. Finally i went over and stood inbetween them to block theyre shooting path. When I thought theyre rubber band show was done with I moved, yet loe and behold when I turned around and they were at it again. So I went to each of them and without saying a word I put my hands out and they gave their bands to me and I told them ill give them back before I leave.

It felt pretty good to have that kind of power. :)
